CareFirst Expands Community Impact in West Baltimore

CareFirst Expands Community Impact in West Baltimore

For the past six months, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield’s facility at The Village at Mondawmin has served as a cornerstone of its commitment to health equity and economic development in West Baltimore.

The 20,000-square-foot space operates as a community hub, offering health education, fitness classes, and in-person assistance with insurance services, while also hosting a workforce development program launched in partnership with Coppin State University and the Center for Urban Families. This initiative provides residents with training for careers in healthcare and includes supportive services like transportation and childcare to address barriers to employment. As part of a larger revitalization effort, the facility contributes to a broader network of resources aimed at improving quality of life and expanding opportunity in the community.
